No longer a toy, except perhaps for young people who only use a few of the phones functions, the cell phone has become a trusted companion. Unfortunately, although it may be a good idea for minors to have them, not one of them would accept a simple basic cell phone that only made calls and sent SMS would they? Cell phone manufacturers were quick on the uptake of fitting their phones with as many gadgets as possible to ensure a constant demand for these high tech pieces of equipment. Various beneficial features of cellular phones that are not available in a landline telephone will make cellular phones outpace landline telephony. The ring tone and cellular phone wallpaper market (screen background) is huge but it does allow each cell phone to be customized to suit the user.

Now, changing your wallpaper couldn’t be easier with web sites set up just for this purpose. Not only can modern phones communicate between each other which makes transferring screen wallpaper a simple process but it can even be created and shared using the cell phones digital camera. It is also now possible to use your own digital camera for the same purpose but it does require the image are uploaded first.

Why not add some text as well, possibly something funny to your cellular phone wallpaper, just to add a little more of your personality. Those people that have older models may not be able to do this but it really shouldn’t matter or make you feel as if you are missing out on something. For a small number of cell phone users, none of this will matter at all because they only need the phone to make calls and the occasional SMS message.

Even sending and receiving text messages do not require any of these functions. I never favor form ahead of function and this is just as true with my cell phone because as long as it does what it is supposed to do I am happy as the rest is just dressing. Try to bear in mind that not everyone is interested in your life and conversations so as a final point try to think of others when you use your phone. Remember that your personality is far more important that providing your cell phone with one.

People around you in meetings for example will respect the fact that you are able to turn you cell phone off because it shows them deference. Good behavior can be catching and yours may lead others to do the same, be different, do not do what others do just because it is easier. Respect and good telephone etiquette are a way to show others by example and should lead or shame them into doing the same.
